One of my favourite spots in County Laois is Emo Court. A couple of summers ago, we all hopped in the car and headed off to a Country fair at the estate. Everything was catered for; Dressage pageants, fishing competitions, amusements for the kids, stalls selling all manner of homemade fare, even a fly past by the air force! After it all, I wandered down the lawns and sketched the house from afar. For the poster, I decided to add the one thing they hadn’t supplied on the day—a preening peacock.
