This navigational Beacon also known as ‘Lot’s wife’ sits at the entrance to Baltimore Harbour and is a welcome sight to any returning fisherman or sailor. It’s the image most often associated with the village, visible from near and far and positioned as it is high above the channel between the mainland and Sherkin Island. Visitors are rewarded with spectacular views towards Sherkin, Cape Clear, the harbour, and the mouth of the Ilen River.
